THE PIGNOSE AMP HEAD & CABINET PROJECT (finished and sold):

PIGNOSE “CUSTOM G-40V TWIN” TUBE DRIVEN AMP HEAD

    This amp is truly one of a kind. Four 6L6 power tubes and six 12AX7 preamp tubes! Totaling 80 watts, this sucker has an over-abundant 40watts of tube power per channel. I took two Pignose G-40V’s and stripped them down to create this monster. Such enhancements to the original amps are as follows:

* Replaced the plastic rocker on/off switches with hardy Carling toggle switches

* Replaced a Chinese power tube set with Russian Sovtek vintage tubes for superb cut-through

* Replaced all twelve knobs with Fender numerical bell knobs ranging from 0 to 10

* Flipped the hardware upside-down as to allow the heat to rise into the air rather than through the chassis and add damaging heat around the transformer and other components

* Newly engraved graphic face-plate to accommodate for its inverted position

* Mirrored back shows reflected glow of the tubes from front

* A girthy chrome handle securely fastened to the top ensures a good grip versus that plastic thing they put on the original G-40V’s

* Original Pignose logo, feet, corners, and most screws were preserved in this new rendition

* Solid brass decorative washers and screws can be found in abundance throughout the head

* Front-facing air vent allows for the heat to escape the enclosure; and whose finish changes from red-orange to green depending on the angle in which it’s viewed

* Removable back for tube replacement

     This head has been played on the stage of the Hard Rock Café Cleveland twice!
