THE ARCADE CABINET PROJECT (finished and sold):
- 4-Player MAME Machine
SPECIFICATIONS:
* Removable 4-Player Control Consol/Deck - Fully
customizable button configurations; T-molding edging; By designing the control
deck as a removable component, not only does it make it easier to move it to a
different room, but you also have the option of taking it with you! What I mean
is, your programmed settings are saved inside the deck itself, and doesn’t need
any power to hold it’s memory! Plug it into a USB port on a PC, your buddy’s
X-box®, or PSX® (with adapter cable) and your off! Two large retaining bolts
that screw into steel brackets on cabinet, and has four steel brackets that
“hang” from dedicated slot for easy removal while bolting/unbolting; custom
surface graphics; Interface can also replaces keyboard and mouse… all selections
can be made using control sticks and buttons so you won’t have to bother with
those contraptions!
* I-PAC 4® Controller Interface Board - 56 inputs each
with it's own dedicated microprocessor pin. Each input is interrupt-driven for
NO interaction or delays, vital for multi-button games such as fighting games;
supports "Shift" function and multiple programmable macros; X-Box® and PSX®
compatible; no ghost keys! Keyboard pass-through (allows simultaneous use of
controls and keyboard)

Wiring of the I-PAC to controls
* (4) 4/8-Way Happ® Control Sticks - Switches from 4-Way to 8-Way simply by pulling up on stick, rotating it until it clicks, and release. No need to get under consol or disassemble stick to change configuration
* (40) I-L® “Fire” buttons - 10 for each player; high
gloss - red, blue, green, & yellow; dished surfaces
* (4) I-L® “Player Start” buttons - symbolic person
indicates player # 1, 2, 3, or 4; high gloss; dished surfaces
* (4) I-L® “Coin” Buttons - replaces coin slots for
players 1-4 eliminating the need for quarters; high gloss; dished surfaces
* (48) Cherry® Micro Switches - one for each button; this
is the real thing… it’s what you’d find under the hood of an arcade cabinet
built by any major manufacturer of arcades; gives the true feel of the arcade
button
* Acrylic Display Bezel - 23 7/8”w x 23 ¼”h x 3/16”d
* Blank Marquee - 3/16” thick acrylic panel; for the
placing of your favorite game’s logo, or customize one yourself
* Yamaha® Speaker System - YST-MSW10 powerful in-cabinet
Sub & two overhead internal stereo speakers
* Remote Monitor Carling® Switch - mounted on bezel for
convenient on/off power to monitor/TV or anything else plugged into the
dedicated circuit located inside the cabinet
* Power Carling® Switch - for powering up a PC (includes
leads)
* Reset Carling® Switch - for resetting a PC (includes
leads)
* Auxiliary Carling® Switch - for turning LED’s on/off
* Main Power Switch - powers off/on all components plugged
into the eight outlets inside the cabinet
* Heavy Duty AC Power Cable - heavy-duty Hubbell® 3-prong
plug; heavily shielded cord that can retract into cabinet when not in use
* Cabinet - Sturdy; 3/4” thick board (see overall
dimensions below); exterior hard texture coating; screws that are not hidden are
accented with solid brass decorative washers
* Rear Access Panel - on piano-hinge, allows you to get to
all the “guts” of this machine
* Display Access Panel - on piano-hinge, folds down to
allow access to the monitor/TV (installation or fine-tune positioning) and
overhead audio system
* (4) 3” Heavy-Duty Locking Casters - only 1” is exposed,
the rest is hidden under the cabinet
* Wiring - done professionally (I build and maintain
high-end generator sets for a living)

I had a basic PIII and a couple of hard drives under the
hood loaded with all the goodies before I sold it. After a year of playing on
it, I had yet to play every game!
